World Flag Quiz: how do I play?
Choose Find the flag or Name the country. Every question has five answers. Tap an answer, read the feedback, then tap Next question. At the end of a round, continue or practise flags you missed. The app includes 195 flag pictures and country information for offline play.
World Flag Quiz: saving, difficulty and replay
To pause, tap close and choose Save and leave. Return to Play and tap Continue your round. New rounds unlock less familiar flags and more similar choices. After five difficulty stages, fresh expert rounds continue. Each mode and continent has its own progress. Completed rounds can be replayed from Progress.
Find the country: why landscape only?
Turn your iPhone or iPad sideways to give the world map more room. Pinch with two fingers to zoom, drag with one finger to move, and tap to choose. The +, − and reset buttons are available too. In a browser, the rotate screen pauses play until the window is landscape.
Find the country: how does the kilometre allowance work?
Choose Find a place, then Countries or Cities. Easy starts with 40,000 km, Medium with 25,000 km and Hard with 15,000 km. A correct country costs nothing; city pins within 25 km also cost nothing. A miss deducts the rounded distance from the answer pin to your tap, up to the amount you have left. The animated line shows that distance. Country distances are measured from the displayed answer pin, not the nearest border.
The run ends at zero, or with congratulations when you finish the selected pool. Your result is the number of rounds survived. Places start easier and gradually get harder, with shuffled choices and no repeats within a game. The catalogue contains 195 countries and 271 cities.
Find the country: what is Name the pin?
Identify the marked country or city from answer choices on Easy and Medium, or type its name on Hard. This mode has ten rounds and awards 1,000 points for a correct answer. You can enable a 30-second timer from setup. Timers pause when the app is hidden or a menu is open.
Find the country: progress, practice and stopping
Your passport shows local XP, bests and places to revisit. Each survived Find a place round earns 100 XP; Name the pin earns XP equal to its score divided by ten. Practice does not change personal bests.
An unfinished Find the country run is not saved if you leave it or close the app. Complete the run and open its results to save that game's progress. Finished results are stored on this device. You can optionally share solo scores to country and worldwide leaderboards; local progress is not synced between devices.
Find the country: Pass & Play
Choose Multiplayer Pass & Play, enter two to four player names and tap Start Game. Pass the device between turns. Each player places a private pin; everyone’s guesses appear together only after the last player locks theirs. Miss distances count up together before balances are revealed. Names and multiplayer results stay on this device.
Find the country: leaderboards
After a solo game, choose an emoji and three-letter arcade name. Save on this device, or explicitly choose country/worldwide sharing. Country is suggested from your device region and is editable before sharing. This device, My country and World tabs show separate boards for each mode, difficulty and region. No email or password is needed.
If cloud scores are unavailable, keep playing: scores are saved on your device, cached rankings are labelled, and eligible pending uploads can retry for up to seven days. Remove your cloud profile from the Leaderboard screen; your local scores stay. Use the report flag to report and hide an inappropriate public entry.
Do both apps work offline?
Yes. The installed iOS apps include their game content. Country and worldwide leaderboards need internet access; on-device scores do not. Opening support, privacy or other external pages requires internet access. The browser version of Find the country needs to finish loading online before offline caching is available.
How do I start over?
In World Flag Quiz, open Settings, choose Reset progress and confirm. In Find the country, deleting the app removes its local progress; offloading may keep it. Browser players can clear the website's stored data. Device backups may restore older progress.
